Fostering Design Sensibilities

Welcome!

I am a PhD student at Chalmers University of Technology. I care about many things, from education to design philosophy, and I am curious about everything. My work is focused on first-person perspectives and understanding design sensibilities in the context of interaction design. I am an interrogator and activist, trying my best to be on the side of the oppressed, actively working on my ability to advocate for worlds beyond mine.

I grew up in Portugal and moved to Sweden when I had finished my master's degree in Architecture. I worked as an architect for many years, and still do on occasion.

I found another disciplinary field since: I have been teaching Human-Computer Interaction, Design Methodology, Graphical Interfaces, and Concept-Driven Design since 2016.

In 2020 I started a PhD in Design Research supervised by Sara Ljungblad and Kristina Höök.

Topics that speak to me: design education, games, fabulations, art, illustration, architecture, and many, many more. Most of all, the topics that others love immediately speak to me.

Just presented at NordiCHI 2022!

This week I have been at NordiCHI 2022. Met a lot of amazing people, and realised how lucky I am to be part of this nordic community. I presented a single authored paper and a demo with my brilliant master students. More on the topic as soon as I have ... (Link)

Partially on Parental Leave

As some of you know, we have welcomed our third child into this beautiful (and yet terrifying) world on the 21st of December 2021. I am therefore on partial parental leave until September. You should still be able to get a hold of me, but I may be slow...
